Bedsit
Double slide projection
Images slide by, as a series of photographs taken with a phone, document traces of previous inhabitants in the artists mother’s bedsit flat in Ostend. The ephemeral projections of images intended to purely register for future reference, meet slight and ever inexplicable horror-like affections.
Bedsit is part of Slides, a larger ongoing work where simultaneously running slideshows contain distinct bodies of work that by their juxtaposition and altering rhythms allow for interchangeable narratives to unfold. The artist applies an editorial approach to her work and her extensive personal image library.
