Archive: Family Album 2005 - 2022

Work in progress

When I started taking pictures at the age of thirteen, I pointed the camera first and foremost towards my family. Because I was living in foster-care, our family was separated from each others day to day lives. We would spend one or two hours together on Saturdays, sometimes just me and my mother, father or brother, sometimes together. Throughout the archive you can see how the relationships around me evolved, people grow older, change hairstyles, move apartments, go to hospital, get new pets (or boyfriends), and die.

The work is specific to my life, but through its persistence it becomes a work that is serious about family, photography and class.
